Getting in touch
- From inside the app
- Every screen has a Report a problem link in its footer. It opens your own email app with a message already started: which build you are on, which screen you were looking at, and which browser. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can read and change every word first. Add what happened and what you expected instead.
- By email
- [email protected]. The same address the in-app link writes to.
- How long you will wait
- I read that address in the evenings, so expect a reply within a couple of days. If you write during a regatta weekend it will probably be Monday.
- What helps
- The build number from the footer, which screen you were on, and what the screen said. The in-app link fills in the first two. A screenshot is worth a paragraph, but check that it shows no name or email you would rather not send.
- Which version you are on
- There is no version number. Taskr is deployed every time a change is finished, and an open app picks the new build up on its own. The footer of every screen reads build followed by seven characters; that is the version, so quote it when you write.
Known issues
What is currently wrong with it
These are open and being worked on. They are listed here rather than left for you to discover.
- Continue with Google does not work yet. The sign-in screen offers it, but Google sign-in is switched off for the moment, and pressing it lands you on an error page rather than back in the app. Use the browser's back button, then sign in with your email and password.
- At most two emails an hour. Confirmation messages, invitations and password resets all share that limit, so inviting a whole household takes more than one sitting. An invitation that has not arrived within the hour is waiting on that limit, not lost; an unused invitation code stops working after seven days.
- The Who tab cannot tell you whether an invitation is still waiting. Somebody you have just added reads as signed in before they have opened their email or set a password, so if they say nothing arrived, use Email an invitation on their row after the hour has passed.
- A connected calendar that stops being readable offers no way to reconnect it. Disconnect it and connect it again.
- Deleting your own login is not in the app yet. You can leave a household, and an organizer can delete one, from the Who tab. To have the login itself removed, email the address above and I will do it.
